Le Sirenuse is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the simple pleasures of Positano and the spectacular Amalfi Coast.
John Steinbeck, who visited in 1953, wrote 'Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.'
Le Sirenuse opened in 1951, when four Neapolitan siblings, the Marchesi Aldo, Paolo, Anna and Franco Sersale turned their summer house in Positano into a charming hotel, overlooking the bay of Positano. Today the 58-room resort is considered one of Italy’s leading seaside luxury hotels, though it still retains the intimate, cultured atmosphere of a private home.
Franco, an art connoisseur whose impeccable taste did so much to define Le Sirenuse's signature style, passed away in January 2015. But this remains a cherished family concern. Since 1992, Franco’s son Antonio has looked after the day-to-day running of the hotel, while Carla, Antonio’s wife, designs Le Sirenuse, Positano Mare Collection, a line of beachwear and womenswear inspired by Positano and sold at the Emporio Sirenuse boutique and in selected stores worldwide. Paolo’s daughter Marina created Le Sirenuse’s fragrance and skincare line Eau d’Italie with her husband Sebastián Alvarez Murena, while her sister Giulia curates Le Sirenuse’s much-loved outdoor planting schemes and indoor greenery.
Rooms & Suites
Almost all the rooms, suites and junior suites look out over Positano and its bay. Most have a private terrace or balcony, and all feature whitewashed walls, traditional vaulted ceilings and handmade Amalfi Coast tiles, as well as antiques and artworks from our private collection.
Swimming Pool
Surrounded by lemon trees and comfortable deck chairs, our terrace swimming pool is a little corner of peace where you can unwind, sunbathe and enjoy the stunning views.
Le Sirenuse Spa
Le Sirenuse Spa was designed by the renowned Italian architect, GAE AULENTI. Her design, that makes use of teak wood, white marble and stainless steel, steps away from the Moorish architecture prevalent in the hotel and creates a modern and essential space. The SPA includes a Sauna, a granite Steam bath and a Ice room. The gym is fit with “TechnoGym” cardiovascular machines and weights as well as stretching and yoga mats and two “Megaformer”.
You can access the Spa and Gym from the pool terrace or from a dedicated stairway accessible from the corridors of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.
Spa Suite
A suite for couples is available to enjoy simultaneous treatments. A private steam bath in sand color granite and an emotional shower further enhance this pleasant experience.
Our SPA therapists are qualified in Aromatherapy treatments for the face and body as well as body massages. We exclusively use AVEDA’s natural products and treatment techniques, inspired by the ancient Ayurvedic philosophy by which our physical beauty is always linked to our mind’s peace.
Pool Bar and Restaurant
Our pool terrace is lined with fragrant lemon trees and flowers. At the bar tables, overlooking the sea and shaded by a bamboo awning.
Franco's Bar
The latest addition to Le Sirenuse, Franco’s Bar is a stylish, panoramic al fresco terrace that tips its hat to a golden age of fine cocktails and quality champagne. The bar's fresh and striking decor and contemporary artworks, commissioned from a raft of local and international talent, pay homage to the late Franco Sersale, whose careful design curation is still evident in every corner of the hotel.
Aldo’s Cocktail Bar & Seafood Grill
A scenic raft perched above the Mediterranean sea, Aldo’s enjoys an iconic view of Positano, immortalized by generations of artists and photographers. This chic Amalfi Coast insider haunt is equally suited to a romantic soirée or an evening with friends. Open from May to mid-October, it offers a curated selection of champagnes, cocktails, wines and spirits, accompanied, should the mood take you, by oysters, caviar, raw fish platters and light versions of Neapolitan and Italian classic dishes.
La Sponda Restaurant
The light Mediterranean cuisine of Le Sirenuse’s romantic La Sponda restaurant is based on fresh local ingredients and inspired by the great culinary traditions of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Infused by the leisured elegance of Positano’s dolce vita, La Sponda is illuminated, in the evening, by four hundred candles that create an unforgettable atmosphere.
